Welcome to Year 3!
Hello and welcome to KS2!
The teachers in Y3 this year are Miss Tingling (3MT), Mrs Brants (3LB), Mrs Monaghan and Mrs Repper-Day (3MR). We are very much looking forward to teaching your child, in what will be an exciting and important year for them. In year 3 we are joined by a brilliant team of teaching assistants including Miss Broughton, Mrs El Arabi, Mrs Bray, Miss Knight and Miss Khan.
Timetable
You can find your child's class timetable below. Please note that on a Wednesday there is a carousel of activities including PE, PSHE and the library. Please ensure that your child has their library book on this day.
PE takes place on different days for each class. The children should wear their PE kit to school which includes black trainers, black shorts/jogging bottoms, white t-shirt and red jumper. Please ensure that they have suitable clothing for going outdoors in the cold and wet weather as well as a sunhat and water bottle in the warmer months.
Please see below for your child's PE days
3MR: Monday and Wednesday
3MT: Tuesday and Wednesday
3LB: Wednesday and Thursday
Curriculum
In Year 3, we value a broad and balanced curriculum, enriched with practical and experiential learning opportunities. We work hard to deliver engaging and creative lessons whilst remaining focused on meeting the high expectations of the National Curriculum. We believe in developing the whole child and enabling all children to experience success and feel valued. For more information on our curiculum, you can find the year 3 curriculum overview attached below.
Homework
Homework will be set each week on a Friday and should be completed by the following Thursday. Homework will consist of weekly spellings set on Spelling Shed, Times Table Rock Star practice and MyMaths. There may be additional homework activities and projects throughout each term and we will communicate these with you when they occur. Your child should continue to read at home everyday and this can become more independent as their confidence grows. Please make use of the reading diaries to record what they have read.
